The course is designed to help radiologists, technologists and medical physicists involved in breast imaging to:
- Assess the technical and display aspects of magneticresonance imaging (MRI) of the breast including 1.5Tand 3T magnets and beyond.
- Develop knowledge of the principles of breast magneticresonance image interpretation, lesion evaluation,and pathology correlation.
- Evaluate the appropriate imaging modalities and theirindications for screening women at high risk fordeveloping breast cancer and risk reduction strategies.
- Assess the latest information including indications andtreatment results concerning accelerated partialbreast irradiation.
- Understand the principles and methods for implementingdigital mammography into practice.
- Evaluate issues in optimizing the breast ultrasoundexamination for both diagnosis and screening.
- Appraise new technologies in breast imaging and evaluatetheir potential role and appropriate use in theevaluation of breast disesase.
- Evaluate challenging clinical cases with an emphasis onthe appropriate workup for diagnosis.
